The textile Industry’s focus on reusing and recycling is quickly growing

Given that the fashion industry has doubled its output in the past two decades and that more than two-thirds of produced textiles end up in landfills at the end of their use, it is easy to deduce how relevant end-of-life considerations are for a product.

Pre-consumer wastes (Pre-CW) are the production waste that arises during processing stages. That is, the discarded material that never reaches the final consumer and includes fiber, yarn and fabric wastes.

Post-consumer wastes (PCW) wastes are those generated at the end of a product lifecycle.
Today, the majority of textiles are made of synthetic textile fibers and polymers originated from fossil sources such as nylon, acrylic, polyester and polypropylene. Their production and destination give rise to considerable carbon dioxide emissions.

With technological innovation and increased attention to environmental respect, companies are moving toward Zero Waste production models.
When it comes to selecting materials, Fashion Tex always pays great attention to green raw materials, such as organic and recycled cottons, pre- and post-consumer.
